In “if you know what I mean” the ensemble DieOrdnungDerDinge researches possibilities of translating music into different media and forms. Visualizing sounds, acoustically interpreting images… In the pieces presented, these seemingly straightforward transpositions yield new, unexpected results, raising the question of whether translation is actually possible at all, and unveiling the unmistakeable role that our own expectations and experiences play in the process of perception.
